Iranian President Highlights Complex Challenges as Washington Threatens Military Action if Deal Fails
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that his country is going through a highly sensitive period and facing complex, multifaceted challenges. During government meetings, he stressed the necessity of broadening the decision-making circle rather than confining it to a limited group, noting that possessing knowledge alone is insufficient to resolve crises. Conversely, US President Donald Trump stated that his country is close to concluding a comprehensive agreement with Tehran, warning that he would resort to the military option and the "Department of War" if a satisfactory deal cannot be reached. Trump reiterated his preference for a diplomatic solution that guarantees the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and prevents Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons, asserting that US forces will withdraw from the region once these objectives are achieved and the nuclear file is fully resolved.
