25 Arrested for Burning "Sanitary Landfill Waste" in Baghdad

Baghdad Operations Command announced on Tuesday (May 5, 2026) the arrest of 25 violators who burned "sanitary landfill waste" in both Karkh and Rusafa sides of Baghdad.

The command stated in a statement that "with the aim of reducing environmental pollution resulting from the emission of gases and odors accompanying random burning operations, our security units were able to arrest (25) violators who burned (sanitary landfill waste) illegally in the areas of (Nahrawan and Al-Nabai) in Karkh and Rusafa sides."

The command added that this comes within the measures taken by the Operations Command to preserve the health and safety of citizens.
