Imminent Launch of Smart Traffic System in Baghdad and Provinces to Enhance Safety

The General Traffic Directorate has announced the upcoming launch of the smart traffic system in the capital, Baghdad, and other provinces. The new system, to be implemented in registration departments and main streets, aims to improve services and reduce traffic violations and accidents. The Directorate explained that the system relies on detecting violations through smart cameras, subjecting them to comprehensive auditing before issuing fines. It also emphasized a recent noticeable decline in violations in the capital, which contributed to lower accident rates, noting that any modification or reduction in fine amounts requires new legal legislation.
