Barzani Congratulates Al-Zaidi.. Affirms Joint Work to Form National Government

The President of the Kurdistan Region congratulated the Prime Minister-designate on his appointment.

Barzani stated in an official congratulatory message: "We congratulate brother Ali Al-Zaidi on his nomination and appointment as Prime Minister, wishing him success in forming a comprehensive national government that meets the aspirations of our people throughout Iraq and works to enhance stability and reconstruction."

He added: "We affirm our support for him and working with him for a better future for all Iraqis."

The Coordination Framework had officially nominated Ali Al-Zaidi for the premiership on Monday evening, and the President of the Republic tasked him with forming the government.

Al-Zaidi pledged in his first speech following his appointment that "addressing the surrounding internal and external challenges will be among the priorities of his upcoming work," noting that "his program relies on making Iraq a balanced country regionally and internationally."
