Joint Operations Room Established Between Baghdad and Karbala to Secure Energy Plan During Muharram
The Ministry of Electricity has formed a joint operations room to oversee the energy supply plan for the month of Muharram between the capital, Baghdad, and the holy city of Karbala. Concurrently, the Ministry launched an intensive campaign to remove violations on transmission and distribution lines in Baghdad to ensure grid stability. Relevant authorities clarified that the service plan was implemented in coordination with competent bodies, which included preparing maintenance and lighting teams, as well as equipping the transport fleet to move pilgrims, while exempting pilgrimage routes from scheduled power outages. Immediate maintenance detachments were also deployed along the roads leading to Karbala to address any emergencies. The campaign to remove violations and conduct proactive maintenance aims to reduce losses, improve the efficiency of the national grid, and ensure a highly flexible power flow to minimize sudden outages caused by increased loads.
