Tehran Accuses IAEA of Politicizing Oversight of Its Nuclear Program
Iran directed harsh criticism at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), accusing it of politicizing the monitoring of its nuclear activities. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi called on the agency to stop turning its technical reports into tools for political pressure, asserting that this hinders efforts to reach a diplomatic solution. He clarified that the disruption of monitoring operations at certain nuclear facilities was not due to a lack of cooperation from the Iranian side, but rather a result of recent attacks on those sites. Tehran accused the agency of exploiting the security repercussions of the recent strikes to create unjustified ambiguity regarding the nature of the Iranian nuclear program.
