Ministry of Health: No Hantavirus Cases in Iraq, Epidemiological Situation Stable
The Ministry of Health confirmed that no cases of Hantavirus have been recorded within Iraqi territory, stating that the epidemiological situation in the country remains stable and reassuring. The official spokesperson explained that surveillance teams continue to monitor health developments locally and internationally on a daily basis. The ministry has taken preventive measures, including strengthening the epidemiological surveillance system, circulating scientific bulletins, and tightening infection control procedures. He noted that the virus is a zoonotic disease transmitted through rodents and currently poses no threat to public health in Iraq.
