Finance Minister Discusses Economic Reform and Financial Partnership with US Chargé d'Affaires

Finance Minister Faleh Sari received the US Chargé d'Affaires in Iraq, Joshua Harris, to discuss avenues for economic cooperation and ways to strengthen the strategic partnership with US financial institutions. During the meeting, the Minister emphasized that the government places the economic file at the forefront of its priorities, pointing to upcoming comprehensive financial reforms aimed at addressing current challenges in collaboration with international partners. He also revealed government efforts to transition towards "program-based budgeting" to enhance spending efficiency. For his part, the US official reiterated his country's support for the Iraqi government in its efforts to overcome economic hurdles and achieve sustainable financial stability.
