Iraqi Government Issues Strategic Decisions on Energy, Environment, and Economy

The Prime Minister chaired a regular session to discuss national developments, resulting in a series of key decisions. Directives included prioritizing the electricity sector, addressing pollution in the Tigris River, and mandating relevant authorities to clear water hyacinths and mitigate the effects of drought. Furthermore, an official holiday was declared for next Thursday in observance of Ashura. In the energy sector, the council approved the free provision of gas oil to private generator operators for July and August to ensure a stable power supply for citizens. Economically and administratively, the council suspended certain investment project contracts to rationalize public spending, approved the draft law for the Federal Internal Audit Commission for parliamentary review, and withdrew the civil aviation amendment bill.
