Mesopotamia News quoted informed sources about reaching a compromise whereby Washington allowed Iraq to pay its accumulated debts for Iranian energy imports by depositing them in specific banks in the Omani capital, Muscat, to be subject to strict oversight ensuring they are not used in prohibited activities according to international resolutions, and to be limited only to meeting basic living needs.
