Coordination Framework Announces Completion of Sovereign Agreements and Sets Timeline for Cabinet Presentation

Member of the Coordination Framework Abdul Samad Al-Zarkoushi announced today, Monday (May 4, 2026), the completion of agreements regarding sovereign ministries, expecting the cabinet of Ali Al-Zaidi's government to be presented to the House of Representatives within a maximum of two weeks.

Al-Zarkoushi affirmed that Al-Zaidi's nomination was the fruit of a broad political consensus among various political forces, reflecting election entitlements and ensuring balanced representation of all spectra.

He indicated that the stage of resolving sovereign ministries represents a qualitative leap in the government formation process, with the absence of any serious opposition from political forces, which facilitates the parliamentary passage process.

He noted that intensive meetings in Baghdad, Erbil, and Sulaymaniyah contributed directly to accelerating the pace of understandings and removing obstacles to the birth of the new government.
