Coordination Framework: Military Leadership Favored for Security Ministries, Three Key Criteria Set

A member of the Coordination Framework downplayed the likelihood of appointing a civilian to lead security ministries in the next government, indicating that candidates with military and security backgrounds are more likely to be selected. 

He said recent circulation of names included civilian figures, but the nature of security portfolios requires field experience, strategic vision, and the ability to manage complex security challenges. 

According to the statements, political forces have reached an initial understanding on three core criteria for nominees: a military/security background, political independence, and a nationally recognized track record with broad political acceptance. 

He also pointed to an upcoming meeting to discuss the security ministries as part of ongoing consultations over government formation and portfolio distribution.
