Kurdistan Traffic Directorate Imposes Fine for Littering from Vehicles

The Kurdistan Region’s Traffic Directorate announced a 40,000 IQD fine for drivers or passengers who throw trash or waste onto roads and streets. 

The directorate said the instructions prohibit discarding any type of waste while a vehicle is moving or stopped, to protect the environment and public cleanliness, noting that the fine is recorded against the vehicle or motorcycle involved. 

It added that the penalty will be integrated into official violation-recording systems, and traffic officers are authorized to issue fines on the spot or based on verified video evidence submitted by citizens through reporting channels.
