Parliamentary Finance Committee: Salaries Secured, Funding Ongoing Under Existing Mechanisms

The parliamentary Finance Committee said public-sector salaries are secured, noting that the state budget process remains tied to the completion of government formation. 

A committee member stated that the Central Bank has committed to financing salaries under applicable legal mechanisms, adding that available financing authorities may be used to ease fiscal pressure if needed. 

He added that required funding to cover salaries is estimated at over 7 trillion IQD, and that coverage is assured for several months under current arrangements.
