Parliamentary and Media Calls for an Urgent Investigation into Asphalt Plants and Fuel Quotas
Urgent appeals have been directed to the Prime Minister's office to launch a comprehensive and extensive investigation into asphalt plants to verify their compliance with operational regulations. This follows reports of "phantom" facilities exploiting large quotas of subsidized black oil to sell on the parallel market, particularly in certain districts of Al-Anbar Governorate. The demands include the formation of joint field inspection committees from the Ministries of Oil and Industry to conduct surprise audits and assess the actual production capacities of these plants. This initiative aims to combat the squandering of public funds, regulate resource distribution mechanisms, and promote integrity and transparency within the industrial sector.
