Gulf Airspaces Closed as Iran Announces Strikes on US Bases and Interests
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced the execution of a series of missile and drone strikes targeting US bases and interests in the region, citing retaliation for previous attacks on Iranian assets. According to the statement, the operations included targeting a naval vessel near the Strait of Hormuz, alongside strikes on an airbase and a facility belonging to the Fifth Fleet. Amid the escalating regional tensions, several Gulf states, including Bahrain, the UAE, and Kuwait, have taken precautionary measures by closing their airspaces and suspending air traffic to ensure aviation safety.
