Iraqi Government Issues Package of Decisions to Support Agricultural Sector and Maximize Resources

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani chaired today, Monday (May 4, 2026), a meeting of the Economic Ministerial Council, which resulted in issuing a package of important decisions to support the agricultural sector and maximize financial resources.

The council discussed the demands of farmers and farmers, and proposals from agricultural associations and the Ministries of Agriculture and Trade, approving recommendations that include disbursing farmers' dues immediately upon marketing the wheat crop.

During the meeting, marketing prices, harvest quantities, irrigation methods, and seed prices files were reviewed, in addition to issuing a decision to lift the ban on importing table eggs to control prices in local markets.
